SCHOOL EVALUATION PROCESS

Promotion Rules

Grade I to III

The academic year will have series of continuous and comprehensive evaluation through set of three assessments written test, class tests, orals, experiential learning projects, group discussions and participation in various inhouse academic programs.

Evaluation I: April to August
Evaluation II: August- November
Evaluation III: December- March

Guidelines

• Regular classes will be held after each test and no holiday will be observed in between the test other than gazetted holidays.
• No re-test will be conducted at any level.
• Duration of pen and paper test in every evaluation will be 1:30 hours (for grade 1 & 2) and 2:00 hours for grade 3.
• Evaluation I and II will be held in the form of weekly test and evaluation III will be held twice a week.
• Test series will be held twice a week within a specifi ed datesheet given before each evaluation in the syllabus booklet.
• Basics of grammar in both the languages in English and Hindi and basic operations in Maths will be carried forward in EV II and EV III.
• Two G.K assessments will be accessed before every evaluation and every of them will be given in each evaluation.
• Scholastic areas will be graded on 8-point scale
• Co-scholastic activities and life skills will be graded on 5 point grading scale (A to E)
• Absentees other than those on medical grounds will be marked absent in pen and paper test and no grades will be awarded.
• Leave on medical ground will be granted only getting it sanctioned in advance along with medical certifi cate & medical fi tness certifi cate should be submitted while rejoining the school.

Grade IV & V

1. TERM I includes Periodic I (July- August) and Half yearly (Sept-Oct).
2. TERM II includes Periodic II (Nov- Dec) and Annual Examination (Feb-March).

Guidelines of Periodic I and II

• Periodic I and II will be conducted for 20 marks for the Duration of 1:00 hour in the form of weekly tests and will be converted into 10 marks
• 20% of the entire syllabus will be covered in the first periodic and 25% in second periodic.

Guidelines of Half yearly and Annual Examination

• Half Yearly Examination (Mid Sept-Mid Oct) and Annual Exam (Mid Feb-Mid March) will be conducted for 60 marks for the Duration 2:00 hours and will be converted into 30 marks in half yearly & 40 marks in annual exam.
• 50% weightage of the same + 10 marks (fi rst or second periodic) +5 marks (Notebooks maintenance) + 5 marks (Enrichment activities) and total of the same will be 50 marks.
• 50% of the entire syllabus will be covered till half yearly exam.
• Annual Exam syllabus includes 25% syllabus left , 10% from each periodic and 15% weightage of half yearly will be added in annual cumulative result..
• Co-scholastic activities (Visual and Performing arts, Physical Education & Work Education) will be graded on 5 point grading scale (A to E).
• Discipline (Attendance, Sincerity, Behaviour, Values) will also be graded on 5 points scale (A to E)

NOTE

• Regular classes will be held after each test and no holidays will be observed in between the tests.
• No re-test will be conducted at any level.
• In case the student is absent in any exam on medical grounds the average marks will be given according to the performance in finals.
•10 marks for internal assessment of notebooks and subject enrichment activities will be given for each subject in first and second periodic.
• Leave on medical ground will be granted only getting it sanctioned in advance along with medical certificate & medical fitness certificate should be submitted while rejoining the school.

 

Grade VI - VIII

First Periodic Test

• Regular classes will be held after each test and no holidays will be observed in between the tests.
• No re-test will be conducted.
• First periodic will be conducted for 40 marks and will be converted into 10 marks.
• Duration of exam will be 1.30 hour.
• It will be weekly test in the month of July.
• 10 marks for Internal assessment of notebook and subject enrichment activity will also be done in each subject for every periodic.
• 20% of entire syllabus will be covered in the first periodic test.

Half Yearly

No re-test will be conducted.
• Second periodic will be conducted for 80 marks.
• Duration of exam will be 3 hours.
• 50% of entire syllabus will be covered in the Half Yearly.

Second Periodic Test

No re-test will be conducted.
• 2nd periodic will be conducted for 40 marks.
• Duration of exam will be 1:30 hours.
• 75% of entire syllabus will be covered in the 2nd periodic test for grade VI-VIII.
• 10 marks for Internal assessment of notebook and subject enrichment activity will also be done in each subject for every periodic.

Annual Examination

• No re-test will be conducted.
• Annual Examination will be conducted for 80 marks.
• Duration of exam will be 3 hours.
• 100% syllabus will be covered in the Annual Examination.
• 60% weightage of Annual Exam + 5% weightage of Periodic 1 + 20% weightage of Half Yearly + 15% weightage of Periodic 2 will be given in cummulative result for grade VI-VIII.
Co-scholastic activities (Visual and Performing arts, Physical Education & Work Education) will be graded on 3 point grading scale (A to C).
• Discipline (Attendance, Sincerity, Behaviour, Values) will also be graded on 3 points scale (A to C)

• Grade VI: 25% new + 10% of Pd-1 + 10% of Pd -II + 15% Half Yearly.
Grade VII: 25% new + 10% of Pd-1 + 15% of Pd -II + 20% Half Yearly.
• Grade VIII: 25% new + 15% of Pd-1 + 15% of Pd -II + 25% Half Yearly.

Grade IX & X

First Periodic Test
• First periodic will be conducted for 40 marks.
• Duration of the exam will be 1:30 hour.
• It will be weekly test in the month of July.
• Regular classes will be held after each test and extra classes will be conducted for next exam no preparatory leaves.
• No Re-Test will be conducted.
• 15 marks for internal assessment that includes subject enrichment, multiple assessment and portfolio for each subject.
• 30% of entire syllabus will be covered in the first periodic.
• Scholastic Areas will be graded on 8 point scale (A1 - E)
• Co-scholastic activities (Visual and Performing Arts, Health and Physical Education & Work Education) will be graded on 5 point grading scale (A to E).
• Discipline (Uniform, Regularity & Punctuality, Peer Bahaviour, Attitude towards Teachers) will also be graded on 5 points scale (A to E)
• 85% attendance is must for a child to appear in the examination.)

Second Periodic Test

• Second periodic will be conducted for 80 marks.
• Duration of the exam will be 3 hours.
• Student has to secure 40% marks out of 80 marks in each subject.
• Regular classes will be held after each test and extra classes will be conducted for next exam on preparatory leaves.
• No Re-Test will be conducted.
• 15 marks for internal assessment that includes subject enrichment, multiple assessment and portfolio for each subject.
• 60% of entire syllabus will be covered in the second periodic.
• Scholastic Areas will be graded on 8 point scale (A1 - E)
• Co-scholastic activities (Visual and Performing Arts, Health and Physical Education & Work Education) will be graded on 5 point grading scale (A to E).

Grade XI & XII


Grade XI

• The academic year will have regular evaluation tests, test series, mid term and final term. Attendences in all examinations is compulsory.
Grade XII
• The academic year will have regular evaluation tests, series, mid term and mock Preboard and Pre-board attendance in all examinations including Pre-boards is compulsory.


First Test Series

• First test series of XII will be conducted in the month of May.
• First test series of XI will be conducted in the month of July.
• No retest would be conducted.

• Regular classes will be held after each test and there are no holidays in between the weekly tests.
• 10% of the First Test for XI would be added in the cumulative result of Grade XI.
• Each paper would be of 1.30 hr. duration and 50 marks.

Second Test Series

• Second test series of XII will be conducted in the month of July.
• Second test series of XI will be conducted in the month of Nov-Dec.
• No retest would be conducted.

• 10% of the Second Test Series for grade XI would be added in the cumulative result of grade XI.
• Each paper would be of 1½ hrs.duration and 50 marks each for grade XI,XII.

Half Yearly Examination

It will be conducted in the month of September for grade XI, XII.
• 30% of the Half Yearly Examination for grade XI would be added in their cumulative result.
• Each paper would be of 3 hr. duration
• Each paper would be of 100 marks except the subjects with practical.
• Days other than the examination would be a preparatory off for the students.
• Regular timings would be followed during the examination.
• Revision classes would be held on the examination day for the next examination.
• No retest would be conducted

Mock Pre-Board & Mock Annual Examination

• For grade XII, mock pre board will be in the month of December, for grade XI, Mock Annual will be in the month of January-February.
• Whole syllabus would be tested for both XI,XII.
• Each paper would be of 3hrs. duration.
• Each paper would be 100 marks except the subjects with practical.
• Day other than the examination would be preparatory off for the students.
• Regular timings would be followed during the examination.
• Revision classes would be held on the examination day for the next examination.
• No retest would be conducted

Annual Examination

• Whole syllabus would be tested.
• 50% of the Half Yearly Examination for grade XI would be added in their cumulative result.
• Each paper would be of 3hrs.duration.
• Each paper would be of 100 marks except the subjects with practical.
• Days other than the examination would be preparatory off for the students
• Regular school timings would be followed during the examination
• Revision classes would be held on the examination day for the next examination.
• No retest would be conducted

Scholar Gown Winners: An appreciation for the student sequring a scholar badge for three consecutive years.

Scholar's Gold Award: An appreciation for the student securing a scholar badge for seven consecutive years.

Scholar Diamond Award An appre ciation for the student securing a scholar badge for seven consecutive years.

Student of the year (Principal's Award): A very special award for the student showing an overall outstanding performance over the year.

Pride of MAPS (Chairman's Award): An exceptional award of recognition for the student securing highest percentage in grade XII.

Appreciation Certificate: Students showing an improvement of at least 10% in the overall aggregate as compared to the previous year will receive a token of appreciation.
